Coloane Trail, Macau

After a leisurely stroll by the sea and a quick loop around the Hac Sa Reservoir, the trail climbs gently toward the iconic Ama statue, where panoramic views of Macau unfold beneath you. From the summit, the trail meanders past a modern Buddhist temple before descending into Coloane Village, a quaint enclave of Portuguese architecture and local delicacies. DIRECTIONS

1.  Start at Hac Sa Beach and walk inland toward the entrance of Hac Sa Reservoir Country Park.

2.  Enter the park and follow the trail around the reservoir loop.

3.  Continue uphill to reach the junction with the Coloane Trail.

4.  Turn left and climb toward the towering Ama statue for panoramic views.

5.  From the statue, descend slightly to visit the nearby Buddhist temple.

6.  Head uphill again to reach the trig point marking Macau’s highest elevation.

7.  Retrace your steps and rejoin the Coloane Trail, heading west along the contour.

8.  Follow the trail until you reach the turnoff for the ancient stone path.

9.  Take the stone path downhill toward Coloane Village.

10.  Finish your hike in the village square, where you can enjoy local snacks and catch transport back.
