Lotus Mountain

Lotus Mountain Ski Resort, located just 20–30 minutes from Changchun City and its airport, is one of the most accessible ski spots in Jilin Province. With 13 km of runs, a small snow park, and dedicated beginner slopes, it is designed as a convenient and affordable place to learn, warm up, or refresh skills before heading to larger destinations like Songhua Lake or Beidahu. The resort has two main lifts leading to different sides of the hill, linked by a suspension bridge, and offers a mix of shorter black runs, easier green and blue slopes, and longer scenic routes that wrap around the mountain. Night skiing is available from 6–9 pm, making it an ideal option for those arriving on afternoon flights who want to squeeze in a first session before a longer holiday.

As a state-run, non-profit facility, Lotus Mountain keeps prices very low, with cheap lift passes, rentals, and even cafeteria meals (two full lunches for under 60 RMB). Visitors don’t need to book in advance—just turn up and pay on the day, although crowds should be expected on weekends and holidays due to its popularity and limited lift capacity. English instruction can be arranged with prior booking, making it accessible to international guests as well. While it’s not a resort where you’d spend a week, Lotus Mountain is a perfect introduction to skiing in Jilin: close, budget-friendly, and a fun way to ease into the region’s bigger and more challenging slopes.
