Lion Rock

This is one of the more demanding short walks in the series.  An undulating route that gives an alternative view of Victoria Harbour but effort you put in to reach the top is paid back with spectacular views along the way and a 360 panorama that’s hard to top.

There are flat sections along the way where you can stop and catch your breath. For the history buffs taking this walk, the route passes the remains of an old pillbox that was part of the British Garrison’s defense line during World War II.

At the summit, you’ll find two viewing platforms with 360 degree views. The first one is spacious and requires no further effort once you reach the top. The second view requires you to scramble across and up to the smaller rocky outcrop that crowns the cliff face of this icon summit. The way down requires a bit of rock hopping as well as navigating a variety of natural terrain before you reach a series of steps that lead back down to street level.
