Dog’s Teeth

For most people the hills of Hong Kong make any hike a challenge. But for those who want to go extreme, we asked our subscribers to tell us what they thought was Hong Kong’s toughest day hike. Then of course we had to do them.

There are many ways to get up Lantau Peak but going via the Dog’s Teeth is one of the toughest. It’s a straight up from the Skek Pik Reservoir with a little bit of rock climbing along the way. If you want to go tough, this is for you.

DIRECTIONS

Get to the start: Start at the South East Corner of the Shek Pik Reservoir. Buses going to Ngong Ping and Tai O will stop there from Tung Chung or Mui Wo.

Get home: Pak Kung Au sits on the Tung Chung Road between Tung Chung and Mui Wo. There are regular buses back to Mui Wo (left) or the closer option is down to Tung Chung (right).
