High Junk Peak

This 6-kilometer route is one of those short but sweet trails that’s packed with mountain biking goodness and worth riding at least once.

It starts with strenuous climbing, continues with fun technical sections dotted here and there, throws in a downhill stairs section, and culminates in a fun descent at the end. Midway is a forested area perfect for a break, and some great coastal views appear towards the end.

The route doesn’t take in the High Junk Peak Trail ridge line section, and like many of the trails in the park is designated for hikers only. We found the signage to be a little vague in places, so check your map carefully.

DIRECTIONS

Get to the start: Take the MTR to Hang Hau and head up to Clearwater Bay Road to Ng Tai Tin to reach the park entrance.

Get home: Retrace your route back to Hang Hau MTR.
