The Dragon’s Back

Another short but sweet technical trail worth riding at least once and in both directions! Like High Junk Peak, this 5.1-kilometer route is full of mountain biking goodness. Technical challenges abound, and many will test your skills; some rock gardens might even have you carrying your bike.

The route rides below the Dragon’s Back Trail ridge line section so you won’t be treated to any incredible 360-degree views. However, vistas like those looking out towards Stanley are memorable moments.

To be sure this is such a short trail that it’s worth riding in reverse. In fact, retracing the route helps avoid the long set of stairs down to the exit. If you fancy extending the route, a road ride over to Stanley and down to Wong Chuck Hang MTR station is a great way to boost it by some 15 kilometers.

DIRECTIONS

Get to the start: The park entrance is next to Tai Tam Gap prison, which can be reached either by van or a road ride from Chai Wan MTR.

Get home: Exiting the park, either arrange a van pick-up, return to Chai Wan MTR or if you want to extend your day with a road ride, the option to ride over towards Stanley and onto Hang Hau MTR is a great way to boost the route.
