Harbour Front Trail

Not too much wild life on this hike but lots for the kids to do along the way. Starting at the park at Belcher Bay there are lots of climbing frames and space to run around. Bring some wheels too in the form of roller skates or a skate board if you don’t mind carrying them there are plenty of good spots to skate.

The new section from Sai Wan down to Central has lots more activities including interactive art and special pliers made for kids. The walking is flat and easy as long as it is not too hot as this walk is very exposed. Save it for the winter months.

The last section from Central to Wan Chai can now be done on rental bikes but we suggest walking as there are so many things to do along the way. Try a spin in the Observation Wheel or stop off for a look around the Maritime Museum as well as all the outdoor attractions in Tamar park. The kids simply won’t notice 7.5 km you have covered in a fun packed hike.

DIRECTIONS

Get to the start: Begin at Belcher Bay Golden Scene, a short walk from the Kennedy Town MTR.

Follow the coast for around 200 meters then skirt around using the pavement past the Kennedy Town Swimming Pool as far as Sai Wan where you can join the coastal path again.

From here it’s very simple just follow the coast.

At the Macau Ferry Terminal you will have to walk on the pavement under the terminal (or go through it for some air con and a drink).

Get home: Keep walking to the Golden Bauhinia Square where you will find the Exhibition centre MTR.
