Lantau Trail Sections 3 & 4
The Lantau Trail is a 70-kilometer long-distance hiking trail located on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. It is known for its diverse and scenic landscapes, ranging from coastal areas and beaches to mountainous terrain and forests.
Section three starts at Pak Kung Au and takes you straight up Lantau Peak, the second tallest mountain in Hong Kong. On a clear day the views over Lantau Island and much of Hong Kong as well are stunning. After reaching the peak the trail takes you down a steep path to outskirts of Ngong Ping.
Section four is relatively flat and easy as it takes you on a contour around Ngong Ping, passing the Wisdom Path, the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery en route. The section finishes with a road walk down to the junction with Ken Shan Road.
