Wong Chuk Hang to Stanley
There is a lot of road on this section of the Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail but it also covers one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline including some of Hong Kong’s best beaches.
At 9.5 km and with little elevation it makes for a good stretch of the legs without pushing the heart rate too much.

- Starting at the Wong Chuk Hang MTR station take the road along the MTR tracks to Ocean Park then continue straight along a small road that spills into Island Road.
- Continue along the road for a few hundred meters looking for steps down to your right that takes you onto a promenade that follows below the road onto Deep Water Bay.
- Cross the beach to the far end and look for a continuation of the promenade past the BBQ pits. This will take you all the way round to Repulse Bay.
- Again cross the beach to the far end where you will find a Tin Hau Temple and steps to it’s left which you take up onto South Bay Road.
- Continue along the road for a few hundred meters now looking for a small path on your left which you follow until it meets with Repulse Bay Road.
- As you get onto the road turn right and continue down Chung Hom Kok Road all the way down to a small roundabout.
- Just before the roundabout look for a path to your left that winds its way through a small wood past the Pak Tai Temple and onto Murray House and Stanley Plaza.
- Climb the escalators to the top of the Plaza where there are buses out to Chai Wan, Causeway Bay and Aberdeen.
