SKI JILIN
Nestled in northeastern China, Jilin Province has become one of China’s top ski destinations. It’s cold but not as cold as Heilongjiang, easier to get to than Xinjiang, and has more reliable snowfall than Chongli, making it a great all-round bet for skiing in China.
There are many great resorts spread throughout the province, all with distinct advantages so for this series we have chosen five to see for ourselves how they stack up and who they are best suited for.

Changbai Mountain
A little known gem of a resort. 31 km of pistes evenly distributed over easy, medium and difficult runs, affordable prices as well as natural snow and easy access all season.
Total Ski Slopes: 31 km | Lifts: 12 | Best for: Intermediate skiers

Jingyuetan
For those wanting a warm-up to a ski holiday in Jilin we recommend flying into Changchun and spending a day at the Jingyuetan resort. Here you can brush up on your snow skills in a safe and quieter environment as well as a fun day in the snow with the family. It’s close to the airport and the city, so add the extra day to the start of your vacation.
Total Ski Slopes: 1 km | Lifts: 3 | Best for: Beginners

Songhua Lake
Songhua Lake has many advantages compared to other resorts in China. It has 55 km of natural snow pistes, two snow parks, and a good spread of beginner, intermediate and advanced skiing. Added to that 5,000 hotel rooms and a location just a short drive outside a major city. This was one we were keen to review.
Total Ski Slopes: 55 km | Lifts: 7 | Best for: Intermediate skiers

Lotus Mountain
Close to the city of Changchun and with 13 km of easy slopes, Lotus Mountain makes a great resort to warm up before a winter sport holiday at one of the bigger resorts in Jilin. As a non-profit State Run Enterprise, expect to find great value here with a real community spirit of ski lovers.
Total Ski Slopes: 13 km | Lifts: 3 | Best for: Beginners

Beidahu
With 80 km of ski slopes spread over two mountains Beidahu offers one of the most comprehensive ski and snowboard resort experiences in China. We took two days to explore the full extent of everything on offer including a few hours at a World Cup Freestyle Ski event.
Total Ski Slopes: 80 km | Lifts: 13 | Best for: Advanced skiers
